May / June  2012

Yearbook orders are now being taken.  Order forms went home in Wednesday Folders. Each book is $15.00.  Make checks payable to W.E. Cundiff.  Books will be handed out after SOLs in May.

Schools will be closed May 25th and May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.

June 4th is Field Day.  If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Mr. Hughes at 857-5009.  We need you to help make this day happen!

June 5th we will hold our 5th Grade Celebration and Awards Program
at 12:30 at William Byrd Middle School
         2nd Grade - 4th Grade Awards Program will be in the WEC gym at 8:30 AM
         Kindergarten and 1st Grade Awards will be given in the classrooms.

June 6th is the last day for students.  Schools dismiss at 11:30 AM and lunch will not be served.

Welcome Spring!
Please remember our building is air conditioned and send our child to school in appropriate clothing. We discourage spaghetti straps and tank tops.  Shorts should come to the end of the fingertips when standing up tall.

Parents of Rising 6th Grade Students
Rising 6th Graders must receive a tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) booster shots prior to entering 6th grade.  If you have already received your immunizations, please submit the documentation to our school nurse.  Should you have questions, contact Amy Poulsen, R.N. 540-562-3900 ext. 56039

 

We are getting a new sign!! 


Our sign should soon be ready. This will be another valuable resource for displaying important dates and events at WEC.

 

If you are having lunch with your child, please sit outside the cafeteria in the area designated for parents.

 

Please include your child's first and last name and homeroom teacher's name when sending notes to school.

 

Checks that are sent to school must include child's first and last name, as well as purpose of the check.
