Terrier Transition Program (August 10 - 11, 2011 / 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

INTRODUCTION
In a world reflective of constant change, today’s school children must be fully prepared to meet transitional procedures with independence. With the additional requirements relating to SOL’s, the effective transition from elementary to middle school is critical to the academic success of students. Too often students have encountered problems ranging from scheduling dilemmas to misunderstandings related to school policy. Also, students are learning how to develop appropriate relationships with peers. Effective transitional practices will engage students to meet new challenges and progress from grade to grade without major interruptions or orientation problems.
