Summer Visual and Performing Arts Governors School 2012

· Eligible: Students currently in grades 10 and 11 with exceptional gifts in dance, instrumental music, vocal music, theatre, or visual arts

· Cannot be an applicant for Academic Gov Sch or Foreign Language Academy, or have attended one of these in the past

· Must be willing and able to commit to a 4-week residential program at Radford, June 24-July 21, 2012

Deadlines:

· Nov 18: Student completes pages 1 and 2 of the attached application and sends to Fran Kiker by email

· Dec 9: School system gets adjudication schedule for January 14 adjudication at Radford. Student prepares and must attend.

· Jan 14: Adjudication at Radford. This is a Saturday and student will provide own transportation

· Feb 16: Student sends fully completed application to Fran Kiker by email. Recommendations may be mailed to me at the address below.

· April 20: Acceptances and denials sent to division and nominees
