The Student Assistance Program or SAP at William Byrd High School offers individual counseling and group support to students with a variety of issues and needs. The main purpose of this service is to provide support and intervene with social, emotional, or behavioral issues that are interfering with a student's success here at WBHS. Please note that all services are confidential, voluntary, and require parent or guardian permission. If you would like to get more information about groups that are available through SAP, click on the "Groups" link. To make a referral, click on the"Referral/Permission Form" and fill out the form (please bring the form or have your student bring it to me at WBHS). You may contact me by email or phone (see below).
SAP goals for 2011-2012 at WBHS are to increase student awareness pertaining to bullying and substance abuse. As a result, we are focused on decreasing the prevalence and frequency of bullying and decreasing student involvement with substance use and drinking and driving. We intend to offer additional parent support with resources to parents in order to further intervene with student issues and needs.
Thank you for visiting the SAP web page and please let me know if there is any way I can help your student be more successful at WBHS.
