Tonight is the night!  The Mr. 'Merica Pageant is at 7pm in our auditorium.  Admission is only $5.00 and you will have a hilarious time.  Come see 15 of your most beautiful male classmates lip synch, compete in evening gowns and answer interview questions. Money raised will benefit the Turning Point Women's Shelter.  Lindsey Ward and Channel 10 will be here!

Congratulations to the girls cross country team for winning 3 straight conference 31 and Blue Ridge District titles.  Kayland Bond was overall winner while Ana Martha Lopez was 2nd, Kate O'Connor 7th, Julia Burek 15th and Allyson Dayton 21st.  Shane Gibson was 3rd overall and Westin Rechtenwald 6th.

A rep. from Herff Jones will be here for an assembly Wed. Nov. 5th at 8:30 am.  The will give you info you need to place orders for graduation caps, gowns, announcements, etc...  See Mrs. Acker in Room 251 if you have any questions.

Congratulations to the WBHS Archery Team members that competed in a tournament at Hidden Valley High School on Sunday.  Savannah Biggs earned a gold medal, Rebecca Geisler won a bronze medal for the girls.  Jordan Baker won the silver medal in the boys division.  Daniel Shelton won the silver in the middle school boys division and Brynn Tardy won the bronze in the middle school girls division.  The team will not practice this Sunday, but will resume practice on November 9th 1:30 to 4 in the Aux. Gym.

Congratulations to our Competition Cheer Team for reclaiming the Blue Ridge District Cheer Championship this past Saturday!  The team will compete to defend their Region title this Saturday at Cave Spring High School at 5 pm. The Dog Pound and Staff are encouraged to come to Cave Spring dressed in orange to support our cheerleaders in their quest to reclaim the State Cheer title.

The Service Learning classes of WBHS are bringing about awareness of the horrible issue of domestic abuse.  The Salvation Army's Turning Point Shelter has lost federal funding and the shelter's mission is to help women and their children who have been abused, are homeless, or unemployed due to domestic violence.  How can you help?  By coming out next Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7pm to the WBHS auditorium to see Tyler Hurley and 14 other beautiful Terrier men compete in heels, gowns, lipstick and more for the title of Mr. 'Merica.  Admission is only $5.00.  You are guaranteed a hilarious time!

Attention anyone interested in Indoor Track:  There will be an informational meeting in Coach Royal's Room (247) on Wednesday, October 29th at 8:05.  All those interested need to attend and have physicals filled out before the meeting.

Come to archery practice on Sunday, 1:30 to 4:00.  Come hit the bulls eye!

The College and Career Center has several upcoming college visits:

Have you applied to Radford University?  If so you can come by the Career Center to sign up for Radford's on-site application review.  An admissions counselor from the college will sit down with you and go through your application face to face.  You will know that day whether or not you have been accepted.  Apply and turn in all necessary paperwork and scores by Nov. 3rd, 2014.  See Mrs. Sartell to get a pass.

You are invited to the University of Virginia's STEM and Architecture Program.  It will be Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at the University of VA. Apply online.

Concord University and Virginia Western Community College are visiting WBHS.  Contact Mrs. Sartell to get your pass today!

Seniors who operate their own business are eligible to receive a 2015 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award .  You must apply by Dec. 18th, 2014.  See Mrs. Sartell in the CCCenter for a pass.

If you are a Sophomore and want to improve your leadership skills you may want to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership or HOBY State Leadership Seminar.  See Mrs. Browning in Guidance for more information.
