Tryout information sheets for WBHS Cheerleading for the 2015-2016 School Year can be picked up from Coach Dillon in the attendance office. In order to participate you must have a valid VHSL Physical on file. Tryouts will be held March 30th-April 2nd in the annex gym. See Coach Dillon in attendance for more information.
Attention Seniors planning to attend college in the fall: It is time for you and your parents to begin completing the FAFSA. See your counselor if you have questions.
Back by popular demand, the senior class will be selling dishcloths until supplies run out. The dishcloths are great for washing cars, dusting, and they make great Christmas presents. Prices $16 for 12, $8 for 6, $2 for a single cloth. For more information, contact the senior sponsor, Mrs. Acker.
FUNDRAISER!! Order short sleeve or long sleeve shirt, or quarter zip sweatshirt with monogramming and help the school raise money. Order forms are located in the front office, bookkeepers office and the Library. All orders must be prepaid.
From the NURSE: Students may carry cough drops, 1 dose Tylenol, 1 dose ibuprofen. The Clinic does not supply any cold/cough medication.
From the College and Career Center:
If you are 14-17 years old and interested in earning $500 for 3 weeks of work with the Virginia State Parks Youth Conservation Corps, pick up an application in the Career Center. Applications are due May 1st.
Volunteer opportunity:Medi Home Health and Hospice needs volunteers ages 16 to 18. See Mrs. Sartell in the Career Center if you are interested.
Virginia Western is offering several workshops to help students maximize placement test scores. Space is limited. See Mrs. Sartell in the Career Center for more information.
If you have earned Dual Enrollment credit, please make sure that you have your Virginia Western Transcript sent to the college of your choice as soon as possible. You may pick up the form from Guidance, or print the form from the link on the Guidance Page on the WBHS website. Once you have completed the form, you can have your guidance counselor fax the form to Western, or you can mail the form to Western.
If you are a Sophomore and want to improve your leadership skills you may want to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership or HOBY State Leadership Seminar. See Mrs. Browning in Guidance for more information.
Junior and Senior Girls: Belk at Valley View is hosting a Prom Event. Walk the store in Prom dresses, hand out coupons, get paid hourly, receive a discount and potentially be hired as a summer sales associate. See Mrs. Sartell to participate!
