We envision a county where every citizen is employable and prepared to learn for life in a seamless web of school and work-based opportunities. A well-educated workforce is now required.
Extensive career and technical education programs that stress both academic and practical applications are offered in all secondary schools. Programs are available in business and information technology, marketing, family and consumer sciences, technology education, trade and industrial occupations, and horticulture. The county operates a central career and technical education center where programs are offered that would be cost prohibitive to operate at the home schools.
Partnerships formed between schools and local businesses have enhanced the educational program for our students while building bridges between education and the community.
