Mission Statement
We promote a developmentally appropriate learning environment to foster individual skills and understanding that will enable children to make sense of the world and to succeed. We create an environment that invites children to observe, be active, and to make choices and experiment.
Our preschool classrooms consist of three populations of children. Below is a description of each population.
Children who qualify for the Virginia Preschool Initiative Program must be four years of age on or before September 30th of the attending year. The child’s family must live in Roanoke County and if accepted, the child may only attend preschool at the school in the area where the family lives.
Parents/guardians who work for Roanoke County may pay tuition for their child to attend a Roanoke County preschool. Children must be three on or before September 30th of the attending year. Registration for this population is in the spring. An email is sent to all Roanoke County employees informing them of the registration period.
If you are concerned regarding your child’s development and wish to have a child study, please contact Margaret Ferguson at 562-3900, ext. 10189 to make a referral.
