Sequence

*  It was Kuan's turn to hit.  First he put on a batting helmet, then he grabbed a bat, and finally he stepped into the batter's box.

*  A few innings earlier, the Eagles had been ahead by five runs.

*  Now it was the last inning, the Eagles were behind by one run, and there were tow outs.  Kuan knew that if he did not get on base, the game would be over.

*  He decided to try to hit the next pitch into right field, where there was a lot of open space.
