All children who will be five years old on or before September

register their children at the elementary school in their home
area beginning on Thursday, January 17 and Friday, January 18 from
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Registration will continue beyond the kickoff dates of Jan. 17 and 18.
- Child’s birth certificate
- Social Security card
- Immunization record
- Proof of residency (a mortgage, a pending contract, a copy of a lease or a property tax statement will be accepted as proof of residency)
* Note: A driver’s license or vehicle registration will not be accepted as proof of residency.
Schools must have the physical and immunization record on file prior to the first day of school or students will not be allowed to attend school. Pupils who are presently attending kindergarten in Roanoke County Public Schools are not required to register. Children currently enrolled in a Roanoke County Public Schools preschool program who are eligible for kindergarten must go through the registration process. If the date of the current physical and immunization record on file exceeds 12 months of the first day of school, an updated physical and immunization record is required before the first day of school.
