Sardin named new WBHS girls basketball head coach
Tiffany Sardin has been named the new girls basketball coach at William Byrd High School. Sardin, a native of Chicago Illinois, is a 2006 graduate of the University of Virginia. During her basketball career at UVA she served as team captain for three years, and won the coaches award for excellence and leadership. She is only the second person in UVA history to be named team captain three years in a row. She was named the team MVP in 2006.
After graduating from UVA with a Bachelor of Arts degree, she continued to play professional basketball in Portugal where she was team captain in 2007. She currently is employed by Family Services of the Roanoke Valley.
“We are pleased to have Tiffany join our coaching staff at William Byrd. She is eager to share her knowledge, love and passion for the game of basketball with the members of the William Byrd community. We look forward to working with her as she begins to assume her duties as head coach,” said William Byrd H.S. Athletic Director Crystal Worley.
