Back Creek, Bent Mountain Elementary Schools to Receive New Principals
The Roanoke County School Board has named Karen Mabry as the new principal at Back Creek Elementary, effective July 1. Mabry, who currently is the principal at Bent Mountain Elementary, replaces Jodi Poff, who earlier was named the new principal at Cave Spring Elementary.
Also, the board named Virginia Sharp as the acting principal at Bent Mountain Elementary, effective July 1. Sharp currently is the assistant principal at Glen Cove Elementary. In her new role as acting principal, Sharp will teach for half of the school day.
“Karen and Virginia have been outstanding administrators at Bent Mountain and Glen Cove and I know they both will do a great job in their new roles,” said Roanoke County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lorraine Lange.
