Wakeland named assistant prinicpal at Northside Middle School
The Roanoke County School Board has named Holly Wakeland as the new assistant principal at Northside Middle School. Wakeland replaces Dr. Andy Kufel, who is moving to New York.
Wakeland first came to Roanoke County Public Schools in 1998 as a teacher at Cave Spring High School. Years later, she moved to teaching at William Byrd High School where she most recently served as the school’s testing coordinator.
Wakeland holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in educational leadership from Radford University.
“We’re sad to see Andy go, but we’re pleased Holly will be taking his place,” said Roanoke County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lorraine Lange. “Holly has done an excellent job at William Byrd High School and I know she’ll be a welcome addition to the administrative staff at Northside Middle,” Lange said.
