The literacy goals for our children focus on developing life long readers, writers, and learners. The necessity for literate citizens continues to expand in our more sophisticated technological society.
Borrowing Kathy Collins’ words, from her book Growing Readers, I’ll share what habits strong readers exhibit:
* Strong readers read every day.
* Strong readers talk and think about books with other people.
* Strong readers read everything in sight.
* Strong readers take care of books and protect their reading time.
