Welcome to Mount Pleasant Elementary!
What’s Mt. Pleasant PTA doing?
At Mt. Pleasant Elementary, our PTA’s goal is to provide education enrichment in the arts, physical education, and technology. Our annual budget is developed with these goals in mind. As you are aware, school budgets in Virginia have been dwindling at an alarming rate. We use fundraising, memberships, and donations as our source of income. This money is used to sponsor field trips, family events, educational assemblies, student recognition, equipment and staff appreciation. This enrichment is vital to maintaining the high standards at Mt. Pleasant Elementary.
We specifically try to provide a sense of community within our school through programs and events designed to bring families and friends together. In order to do this, we also rely on volunteers to fulfill the needs of our staff, faculty, and the PTA in order to successfully accomplish our goals.
How can we support our School?
With the recent announcement from Roanoke County Schools that Mt. Pleasant might be closed due to budget constraints we have decided to add information in ways you can help keep our school open.
The buck starts with all the elected officials starting with the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representative, the Governor, Commonwealth of Virginia Senate and House of Delegates to our local Roanoke County Board of Supervisors and Roanoke County School Board.
We need for everyone to start calling, e-mailing or sending letters to all these people. Their contact information is below:
