The Student Assistance Program or SAP at Hidden Valley Middle School offers individual counseling and group support to students with a variety of issues and needs. The main purpose of this service is to provide support and intervene with social, emotional, or behavioral issues that are interfering with a student's success here at HVMS. Please note that all services are confidential, voluntary, and require parent or guardian permission. You may contact me by email or phone.
SAP goals at HVMS are to assist in promoting student wellness through individual counseling and group support with a focus on teaching skills that will help students cope with problems and stressors and manage their emotions and behavior more effectively. Specific areas addressed through SAP include but are not limited to the following areas:
Life Skills Stress Management Anger Management Conflict Resolution Bullying Substance Abuse Prevention & Intervention
In addition to providing individual counseling and group support in the above areas, the SAP at HVMS is directly involved in school-wide efforts to increase student awareness and decrease student participation in certain negative behaviors such as bullying and substance use and abuse.
We also intend to be a resource for parents with children facing these issues by offering parent support groups and educational resources focused on the areas above.
If there is any way I can help your student be more successful at HVMS please contact me:
