Guidance

The HVMS Guidance Department is an integral part of the school program and is dedicated to helping all students as they progress through significant social, emotional, and developmental changes characteristic of grades 6 - 8. The counselors work closely with students, teachers, administrators, and parents to provide an optimal learning environment for each child. The following services are provided:

• Individual and group counseling and guidance
• Educational Counseling
• Career guidance
• Orientation
• New student registration
• Class registration and curriculum planning
• Consultation and coordination of school and community resources
• Standards of Learning Testing
• Supervision of a peer helping program
