For 40 years, Hidden Valley Middle School has served with distinction the students of southwest Roanoke County. In 1984, it was one of only 5 secondary
schools in the Commonwealth and 202 schools nationwide to be recognized
by the U.S. Department of Education as an "unusually successful
school". In 2009, Hidden Valley was recognized as the 15th Virginia School to Watch, one of only 200 in the nation, and was re-designated as a School to Watch in 2012. In the recent era of state and national standards testing,
Hidden Valley ranks among the best. Hidden Valley's caring faculty and
staff members are committed to meeting the needs of the young adolescents
that enter our doors. Recognizing that the middle school years are a
crucial time of intellectual, emotional, and social development, our
mission is to challenge students to achieve academically and to help
them develop the social skills and habits of character that will promote
current and future well being. We appreciate and welcome the supportive
involvement of our families and greater community. Working together,
we look forward to many more years of success for our students.
