Letter From The Principal

Welcome back.

In our ninth year as Titans, we are looking forward to accomplishing the highest standards. We once again are recognized as a Governor’s School for Excellence, and we begin the year as Wachovia Cup contenders. We are confident that our students, our faculty, and our community will continue to embrace our programs as we proceed through our 2010-11 academic year.

One of the big challenges for parents is maneuvering through the information that is needed to stay abreast of a student’s life at HV. Please return the contact information form sent home the first day of school. This information allows us to inform you of updated newsletters and important dates that may affect our students. All of our information, from testing dates to sporting events and PTSO activities will be posted on the Hidden Valley web site. Furthermore, students and parents will have access to class information and student grades through our updated Blackboard program. If you have questions or would like a newsletter reminder sent directly to your personal e-mail address contact slarrington@rcs.k12.va.us

Daily updates are available through our daily announcements, which are read during first and seventh period and are available on the web site. Each student has access to these announcements in their Blackboard account and on the TV monitors in the library, front office, and cafeteria. For students who are out of the building for Governor’s School or ARBTC programs, information is also distributed during check in. Students need to check in with the appropriate person when they arrive at HV.

Please take time to become familiar with our communication methods. We look forward to seeing you at the homecoming football game, at Back to School Night on Sept. 20, and at our activities. GO TITANS!
