The Roanoke County School Board announced last Thursday that it will begin the process of hiring a new superintendent by seeking public input on qualifications for a new superintendent. The School Board has created a survey related to superintendent criteria, which is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RoanokeCoSupt and also on our home page at www.rcs.k12.va.us. Hard copies of the survey will also be available at the Roanoke County School Board administration office and at every school.

The hiring of a new superintendent is the biggest task facing the School Board and we want to make sure that the public has a voice in this process. We hope parents, staff and residents will take time to fill out the survey and/or attend a public hearing. I also would encourage you to contact your local School Board member should you want to discuss this in greater detail.
