INSIGHT
Exploring Career Opportunities
The Roanoke County Public Schools INSIGHT Program is a 0.5 credit elective course that gives gifted eleventh and twelfth grade students from Roanoke County high schools the opportunity to work with mentors in career areas of interest, while the students concurrently participate in seminars related to personal and professional development. Students work with a mentor or mentors for a minimum of 50 hours. This time is scheduled after school, on early dismissal dates, on weekends, during teacher workdays, and/or on vacation days between August and May. In addition, students participate in group seminars and individual conferences with the program coordinator as part of their experience. Students who successfully complete the first year course will have the option of participating in the INSIGHT Program for a second year.
