Gifted Art
Students identified as gifted in visual art aptitude are offered after-school enrichment activities by the Art Coordinator. The elementary and middle school gifted art programs will begin in October. The elementary program culminates in a county-wide art show in April.
The elementary program consists of general site-based instruction, while the middle school workshops consist of self-selected, in-depth artistic studies.

The timeline for 2008 art screening is as follows:
January Parent letters distributed to second graders February Deadline for return of parent nomination forms February Nomination forms distributed to RCPS teachers March Deadline for return of teacher nomination forms March - April Screening sessions scheduled May Selection committee reviews screening materials June Parents notified of screening results
