Assistant Principal - Paul Lineburg

I started working for Roanoke County Schools in 1995. My first year at Cave Spring High School was the 1995-1996 school year. I started as a U.S. History teacher and I coached football, indoor and outdoor track.

Both my grandmothers taught for over 40 years each. My mother was a K-3 P.E. teacher and is now retired. My father is in his 45th season as a head football coach and began his career as a teacher.

I am in charge of building operations. My duties include parking lot supervision, transportation, textbooks, lockers, building use, securing substitutes, and teacher evaluation.

Assistant Principal - Diane Herchenrider

I graduated from Cave Spring High School, married a Cave Spring High graduate, and have a son and daughter, both graduates of Cave Spring.
Being a Knight is a real family tradition and the Cave Spring community is a great place to be!

Employed as a teacher by Roanoke County Public Schools since 1983, I taught English in elementary and middle school for 15 years. I earned my B. A. from Virginia Tech, and returned to earn my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Following completion of administrative coursework at Radford University, I came to CSHS as an assistant principal.

My duties as an assistant principal are in the instructional area, working daily with students, teachers, and families through the Guidance and Special Education Departments. Scheduling and teacher evaluation are also part of my job, and I serve as the site coordinator for our school as a member of the national High Schools That Work network.
