Welcome to the Career Center
All current scholarships can be located on your students Blackboard account at www.rcs.k12.va.us Parents need to obtain the user id and password from their student. Once you are logged in you will find all current scholarships by going clicking on CSHS Guidance News, then Scholarships & Financial Aid, and then Current Scholarships. If you are unable to obtain login and password information from your student, please contact our technical support at 562-3900 ext 20033.
The Career Center is open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to visit during their free time, or may make an appointment to come at other times during the day. Parents are always welcome to visit the Career Center .
There are 8 internet connected computers in the Career Center that are loaded with software programs to help students make career and college decisions. In addition, there are numerous materials available about college, vocational and military programs. Registration and prep materials for SAT and ACT testing are available. Scholarship information and application forms are also available in the Career Center . A list of scholarships is maintained in the Career Center , posted on the website and distributed to homerooms. The list is updated regularly. Scholarship opportunities are also announced on the Knight News (morning announcements).
Recruiters from colleges, vocational programs and the military visit Cave Spring High School to meet with students. Military recruiters visit during lunches on a rotating basis. College and vocational recruiters visit annually on the dates that they are traveling in our area. Meetings are announced on the Knight News and posted in the Career Center and on the school website. Students are asked to sign up for a pass in the Career Center and to have that pass signed by the teacher as permission to attend.
In addition to the above, there is also a Parent Resource Center in the Career Center. Books and materials on a variety of topics of interest to parents are available for check out.
