8th Grade

English 8 is a transition year into high school academics. Students in the Voyager Program are transitioned out of the program as deemed best for the student. SOL-related materials and assignments are then designed to help the student prepare for SOL testing and the new rigors and expectations of high school classes.

In Math 8, we focus on meeting SOL requirements and relating them to the “real world”.  Students are given one-on-one assistance when needed and the classroom is centered around as much hands-on learning as possible.  All classes are co-taught and on most days, students receive guidance as they begin their homework assignments.

The Civics and Economics class taken second semester promotes the study of the United States’,
Virginia’s, and local governments, and the operation of the American economy.
Our goal is to develop strong, knowledgeable American citizens.
