The library at Clearbrook Elementary is a great place to visit!
With over 7,000 books, there is something for everyone. Magazines can be checked out too, and they are a source of reading fun for lots of students. The library serves about 250 students from preschool through 5th grade.
Students visit the library once every 6 days for 45 minutes.
The library is open throughout the day for additional visitation of students and teachers. Student research today involves not only the use of books but also computers for using the internet and online databases--- we have 6 computers in the library for student and teacher use and the computer lab is across the hall so large groups can be accommodated. At any given time of day, kids can be seen taking accelerated reader tests, using the patron’s catalog, typing reports or just looking up info online about something that has special meaning for them .
A highlight of the school year is when the book fair comes ! Every fall the school library holds a book fair with the help of student and parent volunteers. Funding is raised for library materials and equipment while students experience the joy of purchasing books for their very own. It is always great fun and a huge success!
There are many spots in our comfy library that students call their favorites--the places they like to curl up to read a good book or browse through a magazine. At times, they may even have a friend with them--Clifford, the big red dog--Curious George--or Tiptoe(our library mouse.)
