Per-Pupil Expenditures

Each school board is required to prepare and post the proposed average per-pupil cost for public education in the division for the coming school year, estimates for the current school year, and actuals for the prior school year. (Code of Va §22.1-92)

Provided below are the average per-pupil expenditures for Roanoke County Public Schools.

 
 
 

Budget

Each school board shall prepare and approve an annual budget for educational purposes each year.  The report must be made available either on the school division website or in hard copy at the central school division office.

Roanoke County Public Schools received the Meritorious Budget Award from the Association of School Business Officials International for its 2014 Budget and for the prior 7 consecutive years.

ASR

Each school board is required to report its expenditures at least once each year to its governing body.  The report must be made available either on the school division website or in hard copy at the central school division office, on a template prescribed by the Board of Education. (Code of Va §22.1-90)

 

CAFR

Roanoke County Public Schools prepares a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report each year.  The report is made available either on the school division website or in hard copy at the central school division office.

Roanoke County Public Schools received the the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada and the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International for its 2013 CAFR and for the prior 12 consecutive years.
