Acknowledgements:
This Roanoke County Art Curriculum was updated to coordinate present instruction with the Virginia Standards of Learning in 2003. This revision expanded the scope, sequence and resources for the art programs. The most significant outcome of the project was the development of a well founded philosophical base for the art program in Roanoke County. The philosophy was a result of input from the majority of Roanoke County’s art teachers, a middle school classroom teacher and the art coordinator.
