Boys: Dress shirt, tie, nice pants or dress khakis
Dress shoes: Absolutely NO tennis shoes or sandals
Girls: Nice dress (does not have to be white), dress shoes.
Caps, Gowns, and Tassles: Seniors may order their caps and gowns on line at www.valleygradserv.com prior to the deadline date above. If you did not meet the deadline, you must contact them on line - NOW! All seniors will receive their cap and gown at the Woods End Cook-out. Seniors, please make sure to bring your cap, tassel, gown, gold collar, Beta sash, honor cords, etc. to senior day, Baccalaureate, and graduation. We will have a senior group picture taken on the HVHS soccer bleachers. The cost is $15.00; make checks payable to Lifetouch. After the group picture, seniors will want to decorate their cap and gown for the Senior Assembly. Most students decorate their cap and gown with the college they are attending. (Make sure not to do anything permanent that would ruin the cap or gown.)
Gold Tassel: Students that qualify for a gold tassel (3.0 GPA or better),will be notified through the counseling department. To receive the gold tassel, seniors must return the blue and gold tassel that was issued or pay an additional $7. This will be done after graduation practice.
Graduation Invitations: Make sure you send out your graduation announcements. If additional announcements are needed they can be purchased from Miss Maggie Long in Room 214. The cost is $1.00 each
Graduation Day: Tickets are NOT needed for graduation. Seating will be first come, first served basis. There will be handicapped seating available on the floor of the civic center. Space is limited. Areas will be roped off on both sides of the Salem Civic Center for you to take a picture of your child as he/she graduates. As soon as your child has graduated, please exit the area to allow other parents the same opportunity. A Lifetouch photographer will also be present to take pictures of each gratduate as he/she receives his/her diploma. You will receive additional information about a picture proof over the summer.
Parents: Enclosed with the packet will be a letter with an activity that parents can participate in to make this once in a lifetime event special for your child. Senior Council is asking you to participate in creating a senior poster for your child to be placed in First Hall during Senior Week.
