Banned Book Research

Assignment: Choose and read a book from the banned book list . To find the books from the list in the HVHS library, go to the catalog and use "banned books" as a key word search.

American Libraries Association 
ALA is an authority on all issues relating to censorship of books.  This site will help you understand the first amendment rights.  It also clearly explains what constitutes a banned book and how that is different from a challenged book.  You will learn why books are banned and by whom.  You can also find all kinds of interesting quotes about censoring books as well as specifics on SOME banned books.
