Psychology is the science and profession concerned with human behavior. Sociology is the study of society and culture and human social interaction. Through the presentation of the content of a combined survey course, students will have a background for the study of postsecondary psychology and sociology. Topics in the psychology semester of the course include historical development in the field, physiological and social psychology, sensation and perception, learning and intelligence, growth and development, and personality and motivation. The sociology semester of the course includes the study of groups and group interaction, institutions, race, ethniTahoma, as well as contemporary issues. Students who have take the 0.5 Psychology I (2095) will be permitted to enroll in the combined Psychology and Sociology course for 1 credit. Students who have taken 0.5 credit Psychology II (2096) or the 0.5 Sociology (2105) course may not enroll in the combined Psychology and Sociology course.
