  1. If you arrive at school after 8:20, go directly to the attendence window. You must check in before going to class.

  1. If your note is excusing an absence, give the note to the attendance secretary at some point during the day.  If the note is for an early dismissal, take it to the attendance secretary early int he day. She will give you a note excusing you from class at the appropriate time.

  1. Your tardy count applies per class and resets every semester.  The 1st and 2nd time you are tardy to class, unexcused, you will receive a warning.  The 3rd time you will receive an hour of detention and your parents will be contacted.  The 4th time you will receive two hours of detention and your parents will be contacted.  The 5th time you will receive Saturday school.  The 6th time the administration will handle your punishment and you may lose your driving privileges.

  1. After school detention is always served in the same room. It will be announced at the beginning of the school year where detention is.  You must be there by 3:30.  If you're late, you must serve detention another day.  Detention can also be served before school at 7:30 AM, simply report to the front office.

  1. If you are sick between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, report to the nurse, otherwise report to the front office.  If you have been sick, have your parents call in or bring in a note (for note procedure, see above).  Your absence will not be reported as truancy.

  1. There are many examples of absences.  The following are examples of unexcused absences: being truant, an unexcused suspension, out of town, college visitation, released to parent (unexcused), needed at home, overslept, absent unexcused, vacation, and tardy (unexcused).  The following are the excused absences - an excused suspension, absent (excused), late bus, court appearance, dentist/doctor, funeral, prior, illness, marriage, released to parent (excused), religious holiday, school sponsored event, tardy (excused).

    To be excused from an exam in a full-year class, during the second semester you must miss no more than three class periods, have no incompletes, maintain an "A" or "B" average, attend all review sessions for the final exam, and pass the corresponding SOL (if there is one).  The only absences that do not count towards an exam exemption are for school-sponsored activities and nationally recognized religious holidays.  You must be enrolled in a full-year credit bearing class to be eligible for the exam exemption.  Students in dual enrollment, keyboarding, or one-semester classes are not excused from the exam.
